Recreational Therapy goes beyond providing activities. Our therapists use recreation and leisure as therapeutic tools to help residents work toward meaningful, individualized outcomes.
Services may support:
Leisure skill development
Social skill development
Emotional regulation
Community participation
Cognitive engagement
Physical engagement
Wellness and quality of life
Activities are selected and adapted intentionally based on the residents participating, their therapeutic goals, interests, abilities, and opportunities for growth.

Assess
Residents begin with a Recreational Therapy Assessment that may include observation, interviews, record and IPP review, clinical analysis, treatment planning, and individualized recommendations for services.
Plan
Assessment findings help our therapists identify therapeutic goals and determine whether individual, group, community-based, or other Recreational Therapy services may be appropriate.
Provide
Recreational Therapy may be provided individually, in small groups, within the residential setting, or in the community when clinically appropriate.
Individual Recreational Therapy
Personalized one-on-one interventions based on the resident's assessed needs, goals, interests, and abilities.
Group Recreational Therapy
Small-group therapeutic experiences that provide opportunities to address individualized goals while supporting social interaction, participation, engagement, and shared recreational experiences.
Document
Our team provides professional documentation to communicate resident participation, therapeutic interventions, progress toward established goals, observed strengths and challenges, and recommendations for ongoing treatment.
Recreational Therapy isn't just about what happens during the session. Our team documents resident participation, therapeutic interventions, progress toward established goals, strengths, challenges, and relevant recommendations to support continuity of care.
Evaluate
Recreational Therapy Evaluations allow us to review progress, measure outcomes, evaluate participation and engagement, and make recommendations for future services.
-
